    Description

    Although no interior tags remain, this is a Cairns fire helmet having a glued on West Chicago FPD (Fire Protection District) embroidered patch.  I am GUESSING that this black helmet is made of fiberglass because it is definitely not leather.  There is some denting to the metal insignia holder which can be straightened (I've had my husband do this in the past for other fire helmets), and the rubber edging around the brim is cracked and missing a chunk but this can be replaced.  Typical scuffs and scratches from use.  Size is unknown, but the opening measures approximately 22" in circumference.  About 14" long in total and 11" wide.
