Cairns Leather Helmet FDNY Lt 286

Up for bid is one Cairns & Brothers FDNY Engine 286 Lt Helmet from the war years. Their is a little leather separation in the underside of the front brim and the back comb. Rust is on the hanging ring, the inside liner is a little tore up, and the Cairns & Brothers Mfg plate inside has a piece missing as shown. I wear a 7 1/8 helmet and it easily fits me so I am guessing 7 1/4 to 1/2. Overall the helmet is in darn good condition. Hate to get rid of this one in my collection but things happen.
